Rib and block decking are made up of two main components. Steel re-enforced pre cast ribs are placed on the inner brick of your wall. Hollow cement blocks are now packed between the ribs to form a platform to receive concrete. At specific intervals as determent by the structural engineer a line of blocks will be left unpacked. This opening will be closed of at the bottom and will receive steel re-enforcing on top to form a stiffener (like a in slab mini beam) Steel mesh are then placed over the entire deck area and concrete are placed on top.

Insitu Deck (Wet Deck) Systems

A platform made up of resin coated deck board is placed on primary and secondary girders. The girders are held up and leveled by props strategically placed beneath the primary girders. On top of the platform steel re-enforcing are fixed in a specific design as per the engineer. Concrete are placed on top. In Situ decks are thinner than rib and block because it is solid concrete. In situ decks will also give you larger areas to cover without the use of beams.
